The Wyoming Municipal Power Agency (WMPA) represents our members and its residents to ensure the safe, affordable supply and transmission of electric power.

The WMPA is the cooperative effort of eight member municipalities:
Cody, Fort Laramie, Guernsey, Lingle, Lusk, Pine Bluffs, Powell and Wheatland

The remaining public power communities of Wyoming—Basin, Deaver, Gillette, and Torrington are associate members. While these municipalities do not receive power from WMPA, they enjoy representation in our public relations and legislative efforts.

WMPA is a preference customer of Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) and holds two federal hydro contracts which are utilized to serve member load. WMPA, as a Class A member of BEPC, purchases all additional energy and capacity for member load from BEPC.

WMPA Board of Directors

Our board is made up of representatives from each of our eight communities. Each director is appointed to a three-year term by their town/city council. The board meets on or about the third Thursday of each month (except June and December).
